Business Improvements
Pictured are Sourdough Starter Battered Cheeseballs
For me one of the silver linings of all this craziness (and you really have to try and find one, right? cause this sucks) are the projects folks are finding to occupy time and mind. I'm thinking home made sourdough will be one of the standout heroes of this pandemic when all is over. I just think it's really neat to check out the clever and creative endeavors people are getting into given the time to pursue their personal interests. To name a few over here we have white wine vinegar aging (started from grapes, how we unintentionally ended up with a huge case of grapes is another funny story for another time), maple syrup (epic fail, not even sure the tree we tapped was a maple!), the obligatory sourdough starter (which is going very slowly because I'm cheap and have the thermostat set too low for proper fermentation), and literally hundreds of seedlings popping up in recycled egg cartons waiting to be transplanted in their new home. What new home you ask? Oh ya, I figured that since I have zero construction experience and only negligibly more gardening experience we should probably order an assemble your own greenhouse kit. Like a real structure with four walls, ceiling with windows that tilt open, door, gutter system, etc. Part of me is secretly hoping it gets lost in the mail. My main project, however, is work. Addressing many of the items that have been on my to do list for about half a decade. First and foremost, and this is why I bring all of this up, website and on line ordering. Yes, I may reluctantly join some aspects of the 21st century. May or may not be ready for next Friday, but just fair warning this email very soon will have a link to our new website where you can place your order rather than having to respond to this email. The email itself will look a bit more professional as well. Delivery van with business logo and attractive design, yup. Other little odds and ends that have desperately needed to be tended to for years, but luckily we've been too busy cooking to address the business aspect of our business. Naturally, any even remotely business minded person would have done all of this before so much as peeling a potato. But as most of you know, I'm pretty good in the kitchen, outside of that realm pretty hit and miss. And in the grand tradition of having zero business sense, when our entire busy summer catering season has been cancelled, let's just go ahead and spend a bunch of money. And no, we haven't gotten a penny of all that free money that everyone seems to be talking about. But that's another topic. Mostly this lengthy tale is just a head's up that things will look slightly different for you on the computer here with the goal of making it easier and more straightforward for everyone. I will continue to keep you posted as I figure it out myself!
Enjoy and Have a Great Weekend,
Brian
